Moulds are created using impression powder (alginate), a seaweed based material which is hypo-allergenic for most skin types and safe to use on even the most delicate skin. This product is widely used in the Dental Industry. It allows the moulds to be taken rapidly, giving very detailed casts. The impression powder only takes a couple of minutes to set. The mould is taken away to prepare the 3D life cast which is created using plaster. After a finishing process it is then painted and mounted as requested by you.
I like to allow an hour for the casting session, however sessions can be completed in a shorter period of time. The actual mold-taking process takes just a couple of minutes per hand or foot.
The drying of the casts is a process which cannot be rushed. The finished casts will usually be ready for collection/delivery within 4 weeks. We'll contact you when they're ready!
Absolutely! We use alginate (impression powder), a material widely used in the dental industry. It's hypo-allergenic and safe for even the most delicate skin. The material sets quickly and is completely safe.
We use alginate (a seaweed-based impression powder) for the molds and plaster for the final castings. Both materials are safe, non-toxic, and hypo-allergenic. The finished castings are painted with high-quality finishes in silver, bronze, or gold.
Life casting can be done at any age, but the older they get the more they tend to wriggle! We find 3-12 months is often ideal, but we work with babies of all ages, from newborns to toddlers.
The best time is when your baby is typically calm and content - often after a feed or during their usual nap time. We work at your baby's pace and take breaks as needed.
Yes! Our basic casting session includes 2 feet. Hands can be added at an additional cost. This cost is refundable should the hand casting be unsuccessful, as hands can be more challenging due to babies' tendency to move them.
You can choose from silver, bronze, or gold finishes. All are beautiful and designed to last. We'll discuss your preferences during the session.
Yes! Many of our frame options include space for photos alongside the casting, creating a complete memory package. We offer various frame sizes including 8" x 8", 8" x 10", and 16" x 10" options with photo spaces.
Yes! We offer gift vouchers and gift cards, perfect for special occasions like baby showers, birthdays, or as a thoughtful gift for new parents or grandparents.
Loose-fitting clothes that can easily be rolled up are helpful. Separate tops and bottoms (rather than all-in-ones) work best. We always make sure parents' clothing is well protected, and the process is generally mess-free.
Bring your baby, extra nappies and wipes, feeding supplies if needed, and any comfort items like a favorite toy or blanket. A change of clothes for both baby and yourself is also a good idea, just in case.
Yes! We offer discounts for groups of 3 or more. Why not get your NCT group or baby group together? For groups, we offer 2 baby feet castings for just £65.00 each (normally £75.00).
